David Keplinger is the author of four volumes of poetry, most recently The Most Natural Thing (New Issues, 2013) and The Prayers of Others (New Issues, 2006). He has won the T.S. Eliot Award (1999), the Cavafy Prize (2014), the Erskine J. Poetry Prize (2005), the Colorado Book Award (2007), as well as a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and grants from the DC, Danish, and Pennsylvania Councils on the Arts. He directs the MFA Program in Creative Writing at American University in Washington, DC, and in the summers teaches at the Institute for Creative Writing and Literary Translation at John Cabot University in Rome.
