Housing in a downtown loft above City Market coffee shop; studio in a nearby building where Ernest Hemingway worked on A Farewell to Arms during an extended stay with his wife’s family in 1928. Small stipend helps cover food and transportation. The writer must serve as a mentor for a week-long retreat for writers and give one or two public readings. The remainder of the writer’s time is free to create new work. Writers with an MA or MFA in a relevant field are preferred. Sponsored by the Arkansas Heritage Sites at Arkansas State University.
